If you’re a Ford EV driver or have been thinking of getting an EV from Ford, there’s an incredible new incentive. Ford now offers 100% free charging at your home, thanks to a new partnership with TXU Energy.
Ford and TXU launched the TXU Free EV Miles program on Monday in Texas. Free home EV charging is available during select hours, helping reduce home charging costs for Texas Ford EV owners.
“Ford electric SUV and trucks already have a lower operating and maintenance cost compared to gas-powered vehicles, and at-home charging offers additional financial perks,” Bill Crider, Ford’s senior director of global charging and energy services, said.
Ford EV drivers can charge their vehicles at home free of charge between 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. the next day. To easily take advantage of the free hours, you can schedule sharing through the FordPass app or through the Ford EV’s touchscreen.
Once you’ve started charging at home, you will get credit on your TXU Energy bill for the energy you use during the timeframe. This program will allow Mustagng Mach-E and F-150 Lightning owners to charge at home free of charge and drive free.
After you’ve enrolled for a year, Ford EV owners get a $100 bonus from Ford and $250 from TXU Energy. Drivers will automatically begin receiving the rebates for charging during the free hours.
